My name is Patrick Heekin – creator of Heekin Strength personal training with a difference
Now yes, I know that sounds like a cliche and you’d be totally right for thinking that. But please let me assure you I’m not your typical personal trainer – I don’t think that I am God’s Gift or that my programming or training isn’t flexible. However, if you want to have an overall fun experience whilst getting in shape then Heekin Strength will definitely be able to assist you along the way.
I come from a sporting background so I’m all about teamwork and motivation to achieve your goals. I played a high standard of rugby at Richmond RFC where I was exposed to strength and conditioning for the first time. I really enjoyed my time there playing at an elite level and working with the S&C coaches as well as backroom nutritionists and physios to improve my performance. I liked it so much that I applied that experience to an amateur Sunday league football team, Chefchaouen Berbers FC, who went on to have very successful campaigns following my fitness programs and regular training sessions. This experience along with some other qualifications I developed over the years in first aid and manual handling drove me on to a Health and Exercise Science degree at St Mary’s University, Twickenham.
Since beginning this course, I have gained qualifications in health skills, first aid and fitness instruction and Level 3 personal training, as well as studying modules in nutrition for health and exercise and health psychology. I also took positions as a S&C coach for a rugby team and professional boxing outfit during this time.
Whatever your goals from training, I will incorporate them in a 100% professional way. But I will also strive to make it as fun and enjoyable as possible – Variation is key when working the body to changing routines, and I have this as a fundamental approach within my personally tailored fitness programs.
Heekin Strength’s mission is to break the mold from the typical cover model wannabe personal trainers who are intimidating to be around, and whose egos are as big as there over strained biceps! We pride ourselves on building a rapport with you, for whatever you to may want to get out of your training – taking you out of your comfort zone and hopefully making some friends along the way.
